Peugeot combines compact 208 and 308 models with SUVs like the 3008 and 5008, saloons like the 508 and Partner, Expert and Boxer for commercial use. The control-unit landscape is accordingly broad. Bosch EDC and MED stand alongside Delphi DCM, Continental SID and Valeo systems. A vehicle name alone therefore does not lead to the right protocol. Do not confuse EDC17C60 and MD1CS003 by displacement

Newer BlueHDi engines can use EDC17C60 or MD1CS003 depending on generation. Both systems are found in different vehicles and power levels but are not interchangeable data sources. The same applies to EDC17C10 variants with different processor levels. The workshop reads the complete identification and compares hardware, software and engine code. On inconsistency, the selection is stopped. Bench or Boot connection photos are checked against the exact unit, not a similar-looking ECU. This consistent assignment prevents errors in a vehicle pool that distributes many shared engine designations across multiple models.

Factoring Peugeot automatics into torque planning

Many 3008, 5008 and 508 use torque-converter automatics, while compact models also carry manual or automated gearboxes.
